Sir and dear Colleague,

I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of today's date proposing certain terms of settlement regarding the dispute concerning the payment of pilotage fees by the British ship "Fatshan". In reply, I beg to inform you that the terms as stated in your letter are acceptable to the Japanese Authorities concerned. The s. s. "Fatshan" is at liberty to sail on September 2nd which I understand is her wish.
